Late last Friday my phone pinged that step one of my goal of making money online had been achieved. Figuring out how to get monetized on X was an intentional and methodic goal that I set out to achieve through targeted comments, and I think, if given another X premium account, I could likely achieve similar results again by following these fairly achievable steps.
First, Determine Your Goals
If you are not monetized, and you want to be, your only goal should be impressions. (Well, that, and not alienating your audience.)
That is achievable, with a sustained effort and targeted approach.
If you are monetized, your goal needs to move over to focusing on media. Read below for more info.
Not Monetized? Read this
If you are not monetized, and you want to be, you must regularly comment on posts of users with a large following outside your normal network. Without doing this, it will be very difficult if not impossible to achieve the minimum 5 million impressions within a 90 day period, unless you already have millions of followers. Choose 3-5 people and add them to a list. Follow this list often, using the tabs at the top of your mobile screen. Engage with these list by commenting several times per day. I would aim for at least 10 comments, but more like 20-30 if you are wanting impressions. Do this and you might just stumble upon one that explodes your growth, sometimes within a matter of days. The point here is that it doesn’t really matter how low you’re impressions currently are. What matters is that you make an effort to increase them, by commenting.
A Step by Step Guide
- Find influencers in in your target niche. These do not need to be the typical influencers, only people with a large niche following. Think 500,000 followers and above.
- Create a List on Twitter (please leave a comment if you dont know how).
- Add these influencers to your list.
- While on Twitter, engage with this list most frequently. Leave lots of comments. These comments should be either useful or funny, as these tend to be the strongest performers.
- Aim for 20-30 comments per day on a variety of different content creators. Do not spam one creator.
Follow this for one month and I would be shocked if you don’t see much success.
If you are monetized, read this
If you are not monetized you will need to have your *media views* increase. I was able to achieve with a 471% increase. I once again did this through a sustained and targeting approach but this time focusing on sharing media. Media gets clicked on and brought to a secondary feed which has ads. This is how you earn. I am in the early stages of monetizing, so I will be sure to update this when I have more information. In the meantime, reading up on how the algorithms work might be of interest to you.
